Alfred Hitchcock was born on the 13th August
1899, and was an English director and producer. His main field in the film
industry was associated with the thriller genre, mainly suspense and psychological
thrillers. After being named as England’s best director, and soon he moved to Hollywood in 1939. Hitchcock wanted to be a director who stood out and fashioned for himself a distinctive directorial style. He framed shots to maximise anxiety, fear, or empathy. Another typical feature which Alfred used were twist endings and plots such as, violence, murder and crime, many of the mysteries within his films were used as decoys that serve the film's themes and the psychological examinations of the characters. Hitchcock managed to direct more than 50 films in his career which lasted 6 decades. Examples of Alfred's famous thriller films include, Rebbecca and foreign correspondent.
